Frequently Asked Questions

Here we've outlined the most common questions we are asked when discussing new worksurfaces with clients. However, if your question isn't below then feel free to contact us directly where we'll be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

Q. Do you sell directly to the public?

Yes, we supply a wide variety of customers including the public, as well as professional contractors, designers and shop-fitters. By cutting out all intermediaries in this way, we don't have to pay commission to any agents and we can pass on those savings to our customers directly.

Q. Why would I choose granite for my work-surface?

Granite is one of the most hardwearing, natural materials available. Ideal for putting hot products on, it doesn't stain easily and is quite easy to maintain.

Q. Do you offer other products aside from worksurfaces?

Yes, we have a whole range of products including sinks, tiles and fireplaces.

Q. How do I get a quote?

You can fill in our online quote form and get the price instantly! Simply fill in the details of your chosen material, size, cutting and finish, once that has been filled in the system will automatically provide you with an accurate price, we will contact you with next steps in arranging a tailor made quote. As an alternative, you can also send a drawing of your kitchen plan by e-mail or fax, and we shall provide you a quote.

Q. Do I need to have anything ready for when you come to measure up?

Ideally, for kitchen worktops, your kitchen furniture should already be fitted to ensure we can provide the most accurate measurements and then produce drawings to show you where everything will go along with samples of all the different styles, colours and grains of stone for you to select from. It would also be useful if you have your sink, hob and tap on-site.

Q. Does my Instant Quote include the cost of measuring and fitting the installation?

Yes, our Instant Online Quote represents the total estimate of your project, from the initial measurements on site to its completion.

Q. How long will the order take once it's processed?

This is dependant on the material you selected as we only order in what we need to avoid waste and keep costs down. Once your order has been placed we can give you a final confirmation on timings. We usually produce and install our stone surfaces within 2-3 weeks of creating the templates.

Q. When do I pay?

Our customers' satisfaction is vital to us and therefore we only require a small fraction of the agreed total upon creating the templates before full and final settlement once the project is complete and you are truly happy with our work.

Q. What areas do you cover?

We provide our services throughout mainland UK.

Q. Will my granite need to be sealed against water absorption?

This is dependant on the granite that you choose, some such as Rosa Sardoo Beta will need treatment, but others such as Oscuro Mist do not.

Q. Do granite worktops need a lot of maintenance and aftercare?

We would say that the maintenance is not any higher than any other work surface, however we would just recommend that you choose your cleaning tools and treatment carefully. Microfiber cloths are great for daily marble cleaning, and always try to avoid using bleach products as these can cause stains.

Q. Should quartz surfaces be treated any differently to marble?

Quartz isn't quite as heat resistant as marble is, so when placing hot items on it, be careful not to leave there for too long to avoid any marks or damage. We would suggest that you use mats and other heat protectors and avoid placing hot pans etc directly on top of a quartz worktop.
