Maintenance

Daily cleaning

We recommend the use of a damp (microfiber) cloth, warm water and, if required, a pH neutral detergent, a slightly alkaline (pH 8-10) or a slightly acidic (pH 4-6) detergent for daily cleaning. Detergents especially designed for the purposes of quartz maintenance should be preferred.

We do not recommend the use of abrasive or very acidic or bleach-containing detergents.

Preventing and removing stains

Protect the worktop against stains. Keep chemicals and corrosives away from the worktop.

We recommend that stains are removed immediately with kitchen paper, water and washing liquid. With more stubborn stains, we recommend the use of special quartz scouring preparations. We recommend that after using the preparation, the worktops are washed again with water and detergent. A suitable preparation can be obtained from DG Granite Factory or from a retail shops like Homebase, B&Q and similar.

Preventing heat damage and scratches

Since quartz is not completely heat resistant and can withstand heat only for a short period, we recommend that you always use heat shields to prevent heat damage.

Quartz is comparatively scratch-proof but we recommend that you always use cutting boards.

Long-term maintenance

Polished surface quartz worktops do not need to be treated with an impregnating agent since quartz does not absorb liquids. With regular use, the other worktop surfaces also do not require treatment with an impregnating agent.
